EDM winners of two Northern Powerhouse Export Awards

EDM was crowned exporter of the year at the glittering PD Ports Northern Powerhouse Export Awards 2018 ceremony held at Leeds Town Hall on 22nd February 2018 in association with HSBC.

EDM also picked up the Large Exporter of the Year and was commended for its entrepreneurial and innovative approach to exporting.

From its base in Newton Heath, Manchester, the company operates in markets spanning the entire globe and has proven to be a real ambassador for the Northern Powerhouse.

The highly-anticipated PD Ports Northern Powerhouse Export Awards highlighted the achievements of individuals and companies across the North of England and brought together peers in mutual celebration of the North’s leading position on the global stage.

Speaking about their success, Lee Whittaker of EDM, said: “The awards ceremony has been absolutely fantastic. As a business, we export around 95% of our total turnover. It’s a huge part of our business. We have a lot of business in China, America, South East Asia and all over the world. It’s fantastic that we can be showcased and be awarded something like this for our efforts.”

Mick Bonney, Director Sales and Business Development at EDM and a Department for International Trade (DIT) UK Northwest Export Champion said “This is a great start to 2018 for EDM and recognises how hard everyone within the company and within our supply chain continues to work to maintain what is a significant export business”.

This year EDM was also shortlisted in the European Business Awards and in 2017 won the Insider North West International Company of the Year and North West England China Business Awards.
